This proverb tells that one cannot achieve anything merely by oral promises.
In day to day life, the action is given due importance. It is only the action that speaks. Estimation is only through actions. People are judged only by actions. The spoken words must be comierted into actions. Otherwise the words remain mere words.
One must be able to put everything into practice. We must speak through our actions. Speech is praised. Action is respected.
We find most of the people are making all kinds of promises. There is no endeavour to fulfil those promises. A promise remains a promise.
We must take efforts to see that the promises are fulfilled. What may not be possible becomes a promise sometime. Sometimes it is dangerous. We are not to mislead our own kith and kin.
Let us speak what is possible and let us do what we speak.
“Thanks you”
