This proverb reminds us of another proverb ‘Appearances are often deceptive’.
It is more relevant in today’s context. We come across very frequently variety of books. They are very attractive. They are quite often printed with beautiful covers. When people are attracted they buy and go home. One may not find time to go through the book at the book shop. But when people begin to read the contents, they become disappointed.
It is obvious that the publishers have not taken care to furnish good quality matter inside. There is not much interest shown in the editorial aspect. It seems there is more concentration on the business that they deal with.
Our expectations come to an end as soon as we start reading the books. Newspapers publishes review of books. But, not all the books pass through this area of review. Hence one has to be careful in the choice of books.
